In case you did not know, it is not good to keep some foods refrigerated because it dries them out too fast or they can spoil faster then they would on room temperature. Read which ones:

Hot Sauces

Believe it or not, hot sauce can stay good in your kitchen cabinet for up to three years.

Potato

Colder temperatures negatively affect the taste of potatoes, store them in the cabinet  in paper bags, plastic bags are not good because they retain moisture that affects the rapid deterioration of potatoes. Most varieties of potatoes should last three weeks, if they are properly stored (dry, dark place).

Bread

Bread stored in the fridge will quickly dry out. Instead, what you intend to eat it within four days, keep it at room temperature wrapped in cotton or linen cloth in a special wooden box.

Onion

Onion likes being stored in the original mesh bag in which it is purchased or any other which allows the circulation of air at room temperature. However, keep them away from potatoes, which releases moisture and gases that could adversely affect the arc and cause decay.

Garlic

It can stay in good condition up to two months if you hold it in your closet, at room temperature. Keep it in something that allows air flow.

Tomatoes

The refrigerator may give them pale color, hold them at room temperature and never in plastic bags. To speed up ripening, if necessary, store them in a paper bag.

Coffee

The refrigerator creates condensation which can affect the taste of ground coffee and coffee beans. Coffee is best stored in an airtight tin container in the kitchen cabinet.

Winter Squash

Various varieties of winter zucchini will last you about a month or longer if stored at room temperature in the cabinet.

Citrus fruits

It is better to keep them at room temperature. If you put your lemons, limes or oranges in the fridge, the peel will become rough, hard, and they will be less juicy and delicious.

Avocado

Avocado begins to mature only after being picked. If you buy a hard avocado, do not keep it in the refrigerator because it will slow down the process of maturation. On the other hand if the avocado is already soft and you do not use it immediately, storing it in the refrigerator will extend its shelf life.
