Many of us wear or have worn the cheap plastic sandals, right? But, the experts warn that you should throw them away immediately! Why? Well, we can answer that question for you – because they are heavily polluted with carcinogenic chemicals. The ones that smell worst are the dirtiest. Take a look at the article below and find out more about this.
Study confirms – a group of German experts have conducted a study! In this study they’ve tested 10 pairs of the plastic clogs in all price categories. The lab looked for solvents, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heavy metals. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the footwear are substances consisting mainly of softeners and black color particles. They’re rated as highly carcinogenic. Only 30% of these shoes were free of them, the other 60% contained them. The pollution was especially great in the black clogs. But it can also be in black buttons or straps. The toxic chemical can be inhaled but is also absorbed by the skin.
We all know that these shoes are light, water proof and often garishly colored. And, unfortunately, they’re especially popular with kids and teens. They’re also very popular as a work wear, usually without socks in hot weather. The laboratory warned not to wear the clogs or at least to wear socks with them for some protection. Many plastics on the skin are problematical because they can contain toxins.
So, ladies and gentlemen, before you buy Crocs or any of their various knock offs, it is necessary to smell the shoes. A biting or sweet smell is a certain sign that the shoes are loaded with heavy materials. Thank you for your time an don’t forget to share.
