Her name is Alicia-Maree Beres and this is her story: the young mother explained that she began putting on weight from age 18 and it all got out of control from there.

Alicia-Maree Beres said:

“Once I turned 18 and started going out more, training no longer became a priority. Now you start drinking, you’re still lucky for a while and then all of a sudden you look at yourself in the mirror and you’re in the 80 kilos range – and it just kept going up.”

So, she started to make a few changes and was able to shed 26.1 kilos on her own. But after hitting a plateau, she decided to call for professional help. One of the biggest changes Alicia made was to her diet, which used to consist of only one meal a day and a liter of energy drinks. Alicia didn’t find dieting to be difficult, but revealed that the sugar withdrawals she experienced after giving up energy drinks was surprisingly hard.  

She said:

‘It was the most excruciating two weeks of my life. It felt like someone was standing on my temple, crushing my head, my joints, I was throwing up.”
